The future of work
01 · Origin
ergonomics (n.)
Original 1950s definition:
“Scientific study of the efficiency of people in the workplace.” From Greek ergon, “work”, and the second element of economics.
Modern definition:
“Relating to the design of equipment which makes it comfortable and effective for people who use it.” Cambridge Dictionary, ergonomic (adj.)
Ergonomy unites the definitions: creating efficiency at work by putting each human at the centre.
Technology should fit people.
